Always great to stop here for dinner!  We've nevertheless sat on the patio before but what a great experience. We were right next to the grill. It was awesome to watch a master griller at work.

I had the grilled sausages and polenta. Flavorful and the polenta was perfectly prepared.  I also had the gnocchi stuffed with gorgonzola. Yum but a lot of food!  Did my best to work it. Friends had the seafood pasta, which was loaded with fresh goodies from the ocean nearby and Lasagna, which is a signature dish here and appropriately so.... its perfect.

We had really good Italian foods in Rome, so naturally wanted our first meal at Venezia to be Italian as well. Our hotel staff recommended Ai-Do Fogheri. The restaurant was just a short walk away from the hotel. The inside was very nicely decorated & cozy, wasn't that busy when we went for dinner at 8:30 pm.

Unfortunately that's all the good stuff I can say about this place. Couple of things made our visit to the restaurant not so pleasant. No.1: after we were seated and given our menu to decide, it took them almost 20-22 minutes to come and take our orders...I already mentioned earlier that they were not busy (less than 50% full) at that time. No.2: one of our knives were dirty. No.3: the menu is in Italian! I guess that's not a complete surprise, but when we were asking questions to our waiter before placing orders he was answering almost 85% in Italian and was visibly annoyed by us (keep in mind, we are not "white people"). No.4: such a confusing menu! Was trying to order something from the "Primi Di Carne, first courses with meat" section and eventually came to know that only 2 dishes out of 5 listed there have meat in them :/

We have been in Italy already 5 days now, and had the pleasure to enjoy Italian food in at least 6-7 different restaurants. But I don't think this restaurant is anything special, items are overpriced and the foods don't taste that good either.

Food is average, prices are fair, service is very slow and waiters and waitress are not very pleasant.

It is very nice atmosphere. I came here to eat alone during my business trip in Venice. The menu has English menu below the Italian menu. It is very helpful.  There are only two main menu: steak or fish to choose. All my food orders are delicious. I am definitely came back again.

My husband and I went based on a recommendation from the hotel we were staying at, the Marriott.  It was our last night in Italy and we were flying out early the following day.  We were given a card with a map on the back i
To find the place.  The card also advertised a complimentary glass of Prosecco.  A look at previous reviews were mostly very positive.  I wish that had been our experience.  We arrived at 7 pm, when they opened.  We were quickly seated and the host asked for our voucher.  We said we didn't have one, but he insisted.  We then gave him the card from the hotel with the restaurant info on it and he seemed satisfied.  A few minutes later he returned to our table demanding the name of our hotel, then walked away.  While waiting for our waiter we looked over the menu, which seemed good.  In the corner was a man grilling food over an open fire and one more waitress.  During about 30 minutes the restaurant went from about 4 tables to more than 10 filled tables.  Still no one to even bring us water.  The table next to us received their food and asked where their sausage was.  The waitress pointed to a piece of food that clearly was't sausage and said that was it.  When the customer disagreed she then yelled across the restaurant to the man at the grill.  They began arguing loudly and then the person who seated us began yelling.  It was comical.  By 730 my husband and I decided to leave.  Just as we stood the waitress walked over and wanted to take our drink order.  We asked about our complimentary Prosecco and she asked for our voucher.  With that we said arrivederci and left.  After three weeks in Italy I am happy to say this was the only bad restaurant we went to.  There is a good restaurant much closer to the hotel that was wonderful and appreciated out business. Avoid this place.
